When is summer school happening?
The summer school will run for 5 weeks and starts on 31st May, you will be sent an email at 9am (Irish Time) with access to the first recorded panel discussion and all the links and information you need for summer school. The Live panels and events will take place each Wednesday and Friday and on Thursdays of week 2,3 and 4 you will be working in groups with a mentor on the guidance for states in interpreting the right contained in Article 30 of the UN Convention
What time is summer school?
The live panels and participation events will take place 2 -4pm Irish time
What is the writing guidance for states in interpreting the right contained in Article 30 of the UN Convention participation activity?
Summer school participants will work in groups with a mentor on writing guidance for states in interpreting the right contained in Article 30 of the UN Convention. Full details of this will be provided on 31st May.
What is Craftivism?
A recording explaining Craftivism and how you can take part in Craftivism at the summer school will be released 31st May

What is Artist of the Week?
Each week we will highlight an Artist or Initiative of the week. You will be sent links/videos to view in your own time.
What if I cannot make one of the Live Panels?
If you cannot make one of the panels then let us know and we will arrange access to a recording of the panel, this may take a few days.
Do I need to attend all the live sessions?
We would advise you to attend as many of the live sessions as you can to ensure you get to interact as much possible.
Are there accessible materials available?
International Sign Language is provided for all sessions
Real time Captioning is available for all sessions and transcripts will be provided also.
A recording of most of the live sessions will also be available after summer school and uploaded to our You Tube channel .
Will I be issued a certificate?
Yes, at the end of Summer School, we will send a certificate by email
Do I need a law background?
No prior legal training or knowledge is necessary to participate in the Summer School. The participants include persons with disabilities, their families, civil society groups of persons with disabilities as well as advocates for disability, law reform, lawyers, policy makers, policy analysts and others.
I am having connection issues, what should I do?
If you experience technical issues wile logging into a live session and fail to connect. Please notify us at your earliest opportunity and we will arrange access to material following that session.
I have been to previous Summer Schools, is the content the same?
Summer School equip participants with the insights and skills necessary to translate the generalities of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities into tangible reform for persons with disabilities. The theme is different each time. The delivery of this online programme is design as if you were in Galway, but spread over 5 weeks instead of 5 days.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellation before 6pm on 19 April 2021: Full refund (minus administration fee of €25)
Cancellation between 19 April 2021 (after 6pm) and 6pm 17 May 2021: 50% refund
No refunds will be available after 6pm 17 May 2021
